Welcome! Queenie is my tiny little business and one of the things that makes me happiest. I love to hunt down funky jewelry and vintage doodads--selling them seemed like a natural way to keep them flowing. My style is pretty eclectic and maybe a bit unusual. I don't mind if something is worn/cracked/imperfect. To me, that shows that it's lived a life before I owned it. I love to imagine where it might have been, who might have used it, and what they might have experienced.
My first major vintage epiphany was a beautiful tuxedo suit my dad bought me at a church yard sale. He paid $5 for it and I was in love! It was a Kuppenheimer tux complete with pants and vest. I wore the coat down to nothing. The vest was part of my wardrobe for many years, till it mysteriously disappeared in Charleston , SC. Very sad day. The pants were probably a 48x28, so I never wore them. I still miss that tuxedo jacket. That was the beginning of my love affair with vintage clothes, maybe 1985. My latest scores were made at the Front Street Market in downtown Rollinsford (check it out every Sunday morning in front of the big mill!! Love it!) from a great guy called Eddy. Can't wait to wear them!
